On-Demand Printing
On-demand printing is a form of "just-in-time" inventory management. The term "on-demand printing" refers to the notion of printing documents only when they are needed, as opposed to printing large quantities of documents and storing them on a shelf until they are needed.
Many business documents, from training manuals and user guides to catalogs and business forms require frequent updates. Often the changes must be introduced at the last moment. Long runs of material might become obsolete before they could be used. Moreover, conventional turnaround time often is too long for today's fast-paced environment.
At Southgate Group, we manufacture on-demand documents in days—not weeks, perfectly fitting frequently changing contents. It is an excellent alternative to traditional large run printing.
We also have the flexibility to create masters in the traditional manner, and store them in our warehouse for “just-in time” imprinting and fulfillment, offering you the best of both worlds, keeping overall costs low, and providing your customized materials in a very responsive fashion.
Over the last few years, the concept of creating documents on demand has been extended to include non-paper documents (i.e., on-line documents). On-line documents are usually in PDF format or HTML format.
When you think of on-demand printing solutions, think of the Southgate Group.
